In the latest in a series of provocative stunts, Serbian nationalist politician Vojislav Seselj pledged to seek a review of Milorad Ulemek’s conviction for the 2003 murder of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic.

The former commander of the Red Berets (JSO) Milorad Ulemek, as well as Zvezdan Jovanovic, who is the immediate perpetrator of the murder and former Ulemek deputy, were sentenced to 40 years in prison for organizing the murder of the prime minister.

The political background of Djindjic's murder has not yet been revealed.

Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic on Tuesday gave Serbia's late Prime Minister, Zoran Djindjic, the country's highest honour for improving relations between Serbia and Montenegro during his term in offce.

Selakovic said the government was keen to uncover - and divulge - the broader political context of the assassination of Prime Minister Djindjic. "I am convinced that we [the government] are absolutely ready for it," Selakovic said.
