Dismissed police director appointed as PM's adviser
Serbian Police Director Milorad Veljovic has been relieved of his duties, Tanjug was told at the Interior Ministry (MUP) on Thursday.
The government later during the day confirmed this, saying Veljovic now has a new job - as the prime minister's adviser for regional and national security.
Decision on sacking of police director "in coming days"
Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic says a decision on whether Police Director Milorad Veljovic will be dismissed will be known in the coming days.
"There's nothing new today, but I expect I will be able to address you on this issue in the next couple of days," he said on Wednesday, adding that a press conference will be called then, during which he will "explain everything."
Anti-Terror Exercise Shows Off Serbia's Muscle
The joint anti-terrorist military exercise in Serbia on Saturday, called "The Shield", will be broadcast live, Radio Television of Serbia has announced, and will involve more than 500 participants from the security and defence agencies.

The Serbian police director has said that the country's security is "not jeopardized" and that relevant security services are "on top of the situation."
Region's Police Target Illegal Migrant Traffickers
Police directors of Serbia, Hungary, Austria and Germany, meeting on Thursday in Belgrade, agreed to conduct more joint actions to stop illegal migrants and target the cross-border migrant smugglers.
Besides joint patrols on the borders of Serbia with Hungary and Serbia with Macedonia, modern thermal imaging cameras will be used.
