Egyptian Court Upholds Death Sentence of Former President Morsi
An Egyptian court upheld on Tuesday the death sentence of former President Mohamed Morsi for plotting prison breaks and attacks on police during the 2011 uprising.
The sentence, which had been initially issued in May, was now upheld after a consultation with the Grand Mufti, the highest religious authority in Egypt.
Egyptian Court Sentences Muslim Brotherhood Leader to Death
An Egyptian court confirmed the death sentence of the Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Badie and thirteen others for planning attacks against the state.
The court also sentenced a US-Egyptian citizen and several others to life imprisonment, the BBC reports.
The sentence of Badie, who is also involved in several other trials, is subject to appeal.

An Egyptian court has sentenced to death 529 supporters of ousted President Mohammed Morsi.
The news was first communicated by defendants' lawyers, France 24 has reported. Lawyers earlier complained they were given no chance to present their case.
The ruling can be appealed.
