Wolt and Glovo couriers form union
A new trade union has been formed to protect the rights and interests of food delivery couriers in Slovenia. It brings together more than 100 couriers working for Wolt and Glovo.
Part of the youth trade union Mladi Plus, the Trade Union of Food Delivery Couriers was formed because of what the two unions describe as poor working conditions and falling wages.

Demokracija: PM rewarding journalists for “media murders” of rival SDS
Ljubljana – Last week has shown whose servants are the many journalist who were calling for journalistic autonomy under the previous, SDS-led government, including during the strike at public broadcaster RTV Slovenija, the magazine Demokracija says in Thursday’s editorial, headlined Incest of Journalism and Politics Laid Bare.
MPs pass changes to RTV Slovenija act
Ljubljana – The National Assembly passed in 53:26 vote on Thursday changes to the act on RTV Slovenija with which the government would like to reduce what it sees as the influence of politics on the public broadcaster. The changes come after RTV journalists recently went on strike twice demanding editorial autonomy.

Parliament launches inquiry into financing of “party propaganda in media”
Ljubljana – The National Assembly launched on Thursday a parliamentary inquiry into suspicions of illegal financing of “party political propaganda in the media with funds of state-owned companies, state institutions or foreign institutions or entities” targeting media owned by or linked with the SDS.
Slovenian kid suspected of having hepatitis of unknown origin
Ljubljana – One child in Slovenia is suspected of having fallen ill with hepatitis of unknown origin, Mojca Matičič, an infectologist at UKC Ljubljana hospital, told the press on Monday. Further test results are yet to come in, but the child’s condition is good.
Parliament passes 2022-2029 culture programme resolution
Ljubljana – The parliament passed the resolution on the 2022-2029 national culture programme on Tuesday. The coalition expressed its support for the strategic document, which comes after the last of its kind in 2017, while the centre-left opposition was against it, saying it does not offer solutions to address the status quo in this field.
New fund to support reproductive cancer research
Ljubljana – Europa Donna Slovenija, the Slovenian branch of the European breast cancer coalition, has established a fund to support research into reproductive cancers, which is seen as key in the efforts to reduce breast and gynaecological cancers.

Janša finds not everyone happy about good economic trends
Ljubljana – Prime Minister Janez Janša expressed disappointment in parliament on Monday that some should be unhappy about the good economic results posted by Slovenia, urging the opposition to compete in who does better rather than doubt about incontrovertible facts.
Parliamentary body endorsees changes in education
Ljubljana – The parliamentary Education Committee endorsed late on Friday amendments to the organisation and financing of education act, which would change the composition of school and kindergarten councils to increase the influence of the founder, as members of the opposition obstructed.
