The 61st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival ended on Oct. 12 with the award ceremony. "Mukadderat," directed by Nadim Güç, was named "Best Film" in the National Feature Film Competition.

The judiciary has rejected the decision to evacuate the "Marine Species Collection" exhibited at the marine museum in the southern province of Antalya within 33 days upon the request of the municipality.

With the project, which had a cost of approximately 292 million Turkish liras, the necropolis area has been opened as a museum.

The festival will be held by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality between Oct. 7 and 14 this year in the southern province of Antalya.

The 59th Golden Orange Film Festival ended on Oct. 8 at a ceremony held at the Antalya Sports Hall. The festival's Best Picture Award went to Özcan Alper's "Karanlık Gece" (Black Night).

In this year's festival, where 25 awards were given in five categories, Emin Alper's film "Kurak Günler" (Burning Days) became the most awarded movie with nine awards.

As severe storms pummel different parts of Turkey, the southern province of Antalya has been the worst-hit province over the last two days out of the 35 cities for which the Turkish State Meteorological Service had issued "yellow" and "orange" warnings.

The International Antalya Film Festival handed out the Golden Orange Awards for the 58th time in a ceremony held at Antalya Sports Hall.

Organized by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality under the leadership of Mayor Muhittin Böcek, the film festival came to an end with the closing gala and the traditional award ceremony on Oct. 9.
