Former chair of Turkish football giant dies
Mustafa Cengiz, the former chair of the Turkish football team Galatasaray, has died at the age of 71, according to a statement by the sports club.
"We lost the 37th president of Galatasaray Sports Club, Mustafa Cengiz. May God have mercy on our president. Our condolences to his family, loved ones and our community," it said in the statement.

Solar energy plant to be built on Galatasaray stadium
Galatasaray sealed a deal with Turkish energy company Enerjisa on March 9 that will install a solar energy power plant on the roof of its football stadium that will produce electricity for the venue.
Galatasaray President Mustafa Cengiz, club officials and Enerjisa CEO Murat Pınar attended the signing ceremony at Istanbul's Turk Telekom Stadium.
Işıl Alben parts ways with Galatasaray basketball team
Turkish female point guard Işıl Alben announced on June 15 that she has parted ways with the Galatasaray women's basketball team.
"The club unilaterally terminated my new season contract on Jan. 31, 2020. I was called to meet in the first week of February and said that I was ready to make my sacrifice," she said on Instagram.
Galatasaray confirms case of COVID-19
Turkish Super Lig club Galatasaray said early on May 15 that a member of its staff has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
In a statement, the club said the team- including players as well as head coach Fatih Terim- plus the technical team and health, executive and support staff underwent polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing.

Aegean Sea island for sale for $4 million
A 56-acre island, known as Küçük Orak Island off the coast of the Aegean province of Muğla, was put up for sale for 125 million Turkish Liras ($18 million).
There are 350 olive trees and a villa on the island, which is a first-degree natural protected area without zoning status.
