Historic Orthodox church opens doors to visitors

Following the completion of meticulous restoration works conducted by the Culture and Tourism Ministry, the 174-year-old Virgin Mary Church in the Central Anatolian province of Nevşehir has been opened to visitors.

The historic Orthodox church, built in 1849, was used as a house of worship for Orthodox Greeks in the region until 1924 and served as a prison between 1950 and 1983.

Hittite history to open to the world with digital library

The Hittite tablets, consisting of thousands of years of historical documents, will be opened to the world with a digital library, which is currently under construction.

Within the scope of the project, a first in the world, 1,954 Hittite tablets are being deciphered using artificial intelligence.

Thousands of facilities, vehicles in Turkey receive Safe Tourism Certificate

Thousands of facilities and tour and transfer vehicles in Turkey have been granted the "Safe Tourism Certificate" through a program aimed at ensuring the safety of tourists, relevant staff and travelers from COVID-19.

The Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) said the certificates have been granted to a total of 5,216 accommodation facilities.

Tourists, mostly from Russia and Ukraine, have started to arrive in Turkish resorts and visits will accelerate from mid-April, said Firuz Bağlıkaya, the head of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB).
