Kosovo MP Fatmir Limaj appeared in court as the main defendant in a corruption case on Tuesday, at the same moment that the Central Election Commission was in the process of certifying candidate lists that include his name.

A court in Kosovo has issued an arrest warrant for MP Albin Kurti, one of four MPs from Vetevendosje accused of letting off teargas in parliament last year, after he failed to show up for his trial in the capital Pristina.

A judge told the hearing that he would issue the warrant for Kurti's detention to secure his presence in court.

Kosovo's parliamentary commission for budget and finances discussed the need for new legislation on NGO microfinance institutions on Wednesday, saying it was time the country adopted additional regulations.

Naser Osmani, chairman of the commission, said steps needed to be taken in drafting a new law on "NGO microfinance institutions with beneficiary status".

Detention sought for 14 persons in Kosovo corruption case

PRIŠTINA -- The prosecuting has asked for detention of 14 suspects in the case of Fan Pudujevo company privatization, writes the Albanian language daily Koha Ditore.

Kosovo police announced they had arrested 11 people suspected of abusing official authority and economic authorization, and of fraud, related to the privatization of a company.

Baki Kelani, police spokesperson, said the arrests concerned the privatization of Fan, a company based in Podujeva/Podujevo.

The company was sold off by the Privatization Agency of Kosovo, PAK.
