Pesic to stay on as head coach of Serbia men's national basketball team at least until 2025
BELGRADE - Svetislav Pesic has signed a contract with the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS) to stay on as head coach of the men's national basketball team until September 30, 2025 with an option to extend the deal, KSS President Nebojsa Covic announced on Sunday.

BELGRADE - New Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS) President Nebojsa Covic said on Wednesday picking head coaches for the men's and women's senior national basketball teams was a priority and that Svetislav Pesic - whose contract with the KSS has expired - had an "open invitation" to coach the men's team.

BELGRADE -- Brankica Stankovic has asked the Interior Ministry to as soon as possible revoke her police protection, and took personal responsibility for the move.
The author of B92 TV's investigative program Insajder was given police protection in 2009 by a decision of the competent institutions.

Galatasaray delegation visits Marko Ivkovic's grave
BELGRADE - A delegation of the Turkish basketball club Galatasaray SK, headed by President Duygun Yarsuvat, and Turkey's Ambassador to Serbia Mehmet Kemal Bozay visited the grave of slain Red Star Belgrade supporter Marko Ivkovic in Belgrade on Friday.
They were accompanied by Red Star Basketball Club President Nebojsa Covic.

Turkish suspect denies stabbing Serb fan
ISTANBUL, BELGRADE -- 53-year-old Turk Kadri Aktas, accused of murdering a 25-year-old Serbian basketball fan, has changed his statement during the trial in Istanbul on Friday.
Aktas now claims that he "did not stab anybody with a knife," the N1 broadcaster is reporting.

Covic: Ataman will not visit murdered fan's grave
BELGRADE - Head of the basketball club Crvena Zvezda Nebojsa Covic has said that Galatasaray coach Ergin Ataman will not visit the grave of Marko Ivkovic, a Crvena Zvezda fan killed in Istanbul last November, when his team comes to Belgrade for a Euroleague match against Crvena Zvezda.

The chairman of Serbia's Red Star basketball club has voiced his hope that there will be no negative incidents surrounding an upcoming Turkish Airlines Euroleague Last 16 game in Belgrade against Galatasaray, which comes after the murder of a Serbian fan in Istanbul on Nov. 21, 2014, when the sides last met.
