Violin superstar Nigel Kennedy is headed to Athens' iconic Herod Atticus Theater to perform his revolutionary interpretation of an all-time classic, Vivaldi's "Four Seasons," of which Kennedy's recording has sold a Guinness record-breaking 4 million-plus copies since its release in 1989.

A protege of Yehudi Menuhin, Nigel Kennedy is hailed as one of the top violinists of his generation and the best-selling violinist in the history of music. He has been invited to perform at Athens's Herod Atticus Theater by the Greek Festival, with a performance titled "Bach Meets Kennedy Meets Gershwin", a dialogue between the classical and jazz composers.

The Bulgarian capital will host the 16th edition of the European Music Festival, which will last between March 28 and June 8.

The festival will begin with a concert by prominent Israeli violinist and conductor Shlomo Mintz who will perform at Bulgaria Concert Hall at 19:30 o'clock (EET) on Monday.

The world famous violinist Nigel Kennedy will present to the Bulgarian audience his Hendrix project in Sofia on May 10.

His visit is nearing and the impatience of his fans is growing as they are curious what to expect from his new project, which will offer interpretations of the legendary Jimi Hendrix.
