Bulgaria: Software Problem of 60% of GPs has Blocked the Issuance of Electronic Referrals

Problems with the medical software of one of the companies led to problems after the introduction of fully electronic referrals on June 1. This was announced to Nova TV by the general practitioner Dr. Nikolay Branzalov, Deputy Chairman of the Bulgarian Medical Union.

We have no demands yet for more resignations. We want to find solutions to conceptual problems - for example, for free PCR tests, which should have been promoted faster. There's a problem communicating with the National Health insurance Fund (NHIF). There has to be flexibility during the negotiations. Bulgarian Medical Union: We Call on People Not to Take Advantage of e-Referrals for Free PCR Tests

 

The system for issuing electronic referral forms for free PCR tests is aimed mostly at helping patients and then  doctors, said Vice President of the Bulgarian Medical Union (BMU) Dr. Nikolay Branzalov at the presentation of the novel software.

"As of today, electronic referrals are available. I thank all doctors and experts who took part in software development," he said.
