Alternate National Economy and Finance Minister Nikos Papathanasis on Friday signed a decision for the inclusion of the "Digital transformation of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO)" in the projects financed by the Recovery and Resilience Fund.

The government is facing the challenge of absorbing more than 55 billion euros for the benefit of the economy in the next four to six years from the National Strategic Reference Framework (known as ESPA) and the Recovery Fund, and the first obstacles have already emerged.

The members of Greece's new government were sworn in on Tuesday in a ceremony at the Presidential Mansion in Athens that was presided over by President Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

New government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis announced the new ministerial cabinet of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday.

Several prominent ministers were shuffled into new positions, including former foreign minister Nikos Dendias assuming the Defense Ministry and former digital governance minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis taking over as education minister.

With one aluminum foundry closing in Europe due to high electricity and gas prices, Greek industries are calling on the government and Brussels to take immediate measures to reduce the energy costs that inflate their production and operating costs.

Aiming at specific sectors of the Greek economy and the ambition to put an end to the labyrinthine bureaucracy that kept investment plans in the drawers for years, the new development law was put to public consultation.

Perhaps the most historic project of the recent years was signed a short while ago. The investment of Hellinikon Project was signed and got off the ground just a few hours ago, after 7 years of waiting and almost 20 years from the day the old airport of Athens stopped operating.

Within the next few days, the bill is expected to simplify the procedures in the investment environment, said among others the Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Nikos Papathanasis, speaking at the 5th Hellenic-German Economic Forum, entitled "Growth Vision-Flagship Investments".

The forum is organized online by the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The government is planning to take further measures to support of the economy after the end of the pandemic, Alternate Development and Investment Minister Nikos Papathanasis revealed in an interview with ANT1 TV on Sunday, without elaborating.
