The Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA) is readying its new government following the party’s recent election triumph – for the second time this year after its first election win on January 25.

Political developments in Greece ahead of next month’s snap election – the third time voters will head to the ballot box in 2015! – turned surreal over the weekend, with one top SYRIZA MP threatening to commit … suicide, while former leftist comrades continued their “civil war” over the airwaves.

Parliament President called the Investigating Committee on Debt as one "for the truth and accountability to the Greek people and to society" in her opening speech during the procedure for the establishment of the committee at noon on Saturday.

A meeting was held on Thursday at the Maximos Mansion between the Minister of State Nikos Pappas, the official responsible for combating corruption Panagiotis Nikoloudis and the Swiss State Secretary for International Financial and Tax Matters in the FDF Jacques De Watteville, in order to discuss ways to check if money exported to Swiss banks was legally taxed.

Former conservative New Democracy (ND) finance minister Gikas Hardouvelis told private STAR on Monday that he was afraid of the situation in Greece in 2012 and took his money out of the country.
