BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic spoke with German MP Peter Beyer on Wednesday about European integration of Serbia and the region and bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany.

In an Instagram post, Vucic highlighted the significance of economic cooperation between the two countries.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic on Monday received Peter Beyer, an MP of the German Bundestag and a member of the house's foreign affairs committee, and thanked him for his efforts to familiarise himself in more detail with the latest developments in Kosovo-Metohija.

"The partnership with Germany is of the greatest significance for Serbia," Vucic wrote in a post on his buducnostsrbijeav Instagram profile that also included a photo from the meeting.

Kosovo's outgoing foreign minister, Behgjet Pacolli, has warned the Council of Europe it will refuse to cooperate with Russian senator Aleksei Kondratev if he is appointed as the rights body's Parliamentary Assembly rapporteur for talks between Belgrade and Pristina.

Reports in Kosovo say Kondratev is in line for the job, drawing swift condemnation from Pacolli via Twitter.

Although no specific candidates have been nominated yet, the source of TV Klan Kosova says that Berlin wants a German official to take up the post and that an official appointment could be announced after the Kosovo elections.

For Germany, Kosovo is an independent state and there is no further discussion on the subject of border change, Blic says, and reminds its readers that German parliamentarians Peter Beyer and Christian Schmitd conveyed this message to Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic two days ago.

So far, this has not been done, he added.
