The second-degree trial of actor Petros Filippidis is expected to be of particular interest today at the Court of Appeal, with the complainants insisting on their statements against him and him, through his lawyer, speaking of coverage.

A prosecutor in the trial of well-known actor Petros Filippidis, accused of sex crimes against young actresses, recommended his acquittal on Friday on the charge of rape and a guilty verdict on two counts of attempted rape.

The actor is accused of allegedly raping one colleague twice in 2008 and attempting to rape two others in 2010 and 2014. 

Greek actor and director Petros Filippidis, who is on trial for the alleged rape and attempted rape of former colleagues, insisted to a packed courthouse in Athens on Monday that he is not guilty.

Petros Filippidis will be in the docket today before the Mixed Jury Court of Athens.

Αllegations of sexual abuse implicating a prominent actor and director have reportedly been filed with the Athens Prosecutor's Office amid a recent flurry of complaints involving the country's theater industry.
