EU provides funds for post-flood recovery

SVILAJNAC -- Head of the EU Mission to Serbia Michael Davenport on Wednesday visited Svilajnac to which the EU has provided financial aid for post-flood reconstruction.

SVILAJNAC - The head of the EU Mission to Serbia Michael Davenport on Wednesday visited Svilajnac, a municipality situated 100 km south of Belgrade to which the EU has provided financial aid for post-flood reconstruction.

BELGRADE - Novak Djokovic Foundation signed an agreement with the central Serbian municipality of Svilajnac on a donation of EUR 146,000 to be used for the renovation of “Decija radost" preschool facility, severely damaged in the May floods.

Flood-damaged preschool receives EUR 30,000 donation

SVILAJNAC -- The preschool institution "Dečja Radost" ("Children's Joy") in Svilajnac has received a donation in the amount of EUR 30,000 from German company Muehlbauer.

The donation was paid through the sponsor of the kindergarten's reconstruction, the B92 Fund.

SVILAJNAC - The swollen Great Morava river has flooded a regional motorway leading to Svilajnac, hampering efforts to deliver relief aid to the flood-hit town in central Serbia, Svilajnac Mayor Predrag Milanovic told Tanjug on Monday.

Parts of the road connecting Svilajnac with the motorway from Belgrade to Nis (E75) has been flooded.
