New York attack suspect charged over bombings

U.S. authorities charged New York bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami on Sept. 20 with use of a weapon of mass destruction in weekend attacks in Manhattan and New Jersey.

The charges, filed in a Manhattan court by U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, also include bombing, destruction of property and use of a destructive device, according to the 14-page indictment.

Zarrab arrives in New York to appear in court

Reza Zarrab, an Iranian-born Turkish businessman who was arrested in Miami a month ago over attempting to evade U.S. sanctions on Iran, will appear in a New York court on April 27 following a four-leg transference journey from Miami. 

Zarrab will appear in Manhattan Federal Court at 10 a.m. before J. Richard Berman.

Reza Zarrab, the arrested Turkish businessman of Iranian origin in the United States, is being bussed from one place to the other, not flown. From Miami to New York, he is being transferred with several stops in American federal prisons. This must be huge psychological pressure on him. 

Zarrab will serve time in four different prisons during his transfer to New York

Reza Zarrab, an Iranian-born Turkish businessman who was arrested in Miami on March 19 over Iran-related sanction charges, will serve time in four different prisons during his transfer from Miami to New York. He will be transferred via bus, U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York's Chief Public Information Officer James Margolin stated.
