Jennifer Hudson wins top honor at 53rd NAACP Image Awards
Jennifer Hudson was named entertainer of the year at the 53rd annual NAACP Image Awards that highlighted works by entertainers and writers of color.
After Hudson accepted the award on Feb. 26' night, the singer-actor thanked the NAACP for inspiring ``little girls like me.'' She beat out Regina King, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion and Tiffany Haddish.
Hollywood directors nominate two women for top prize in historic first
A year after omitting women entirely, Hollywood's directors on March 9 nominated two female filmmakers for their top prize for the first time in the awards' seven-decade history.
"Nomadland" director Chloe Zhao and "Promising Young Woman" helmer Emerald Fennell become the ninth and tenth women nominated for the Directors Guild of America's outstanding feature film category.

Chadwick Boseman received two posthumous nominations from the 27th Screen Actors Guild Awards on Feb. 4, while the Korean American family drama "Minari" and Spike Lee's Vietnam veteran drama "Da 5 Bloods" were among the nominees for best ensemble.
