A leading member of the now disbanded terrorist group November 17 returned to Korydallos prison on Thursday morning after a 48-hour furlough.
Dimitris Koufodinas had gone on a hunger strike for almost two weeks because authorities refused to give him a leave of absence from prison.
US embassy holds minute's silence for slain diplomats
The staff of the US Embassy in Athens on Friday observed a minute's silence for members of the US Foreign Service killed by the now defunct Greek domestic terrorist group November 17.
They did so on the occasion of Foreign Affairs Day, an annual commemoration of those who lost their lives serving the US overseas.

Dimitris Koufodinas, a convicted gunman for an extreme left-wing group who once was Greeces most-wanted terrorist, has returned to prison following a 48-hour-furlough.
Koufodinas arrived at Korydallos prison an hour and a half ahead of the noon deadline, accompanied by his wife and son, looking relaxed and waving to the press.
