Iconic restaurant in Istanbul's Spice Bazaar set to be closed amid huge loss in tourists

An iconic restaurant founded in 1901 in the historic Spice Bazaar and popular spot among international celebrities is set to close due to a dramatic plunge in the number of foreign tourists visiting Istanbul and ongoing restoration works in the bazaar, daily Habertürk reported on Oct. 22. 

Mafia island is not exclusively for mobsters…

The island of Mafia has nothing to do with any of the characters in ‘The Goodfellas’, or ‘The Godfather’, except of course if Robert De Niro or Joe Pesci happened to visit the archipelago of Tanzania. The island’s airport named ‘Mafia Airport’ is located in Tanzania. It’s name derives from the Arabic word ‘morfiyeh’, which means archipelago.

'Goodfellas' stars reunite at special 25-year screening

The Tribeca Film Festival ended with a bang: a special 25th anniversary screening of the Martin Scorsese gangster film "Goodfellas."
                   
Robert De Niro, Ray Liotta, Lorraine Bracco and Paul Sorvino walked the red carpet before the screening Saturday night.
                   
Liotta recalled Scorsese saying he wanted to shoot the film "like a gangster."
