A strong Beşiktaş will seek a first away win since 2005 against Fenerbahçe, another title challenger that suffered a bad start to the season, in the first derby game of the year on Sept. 23. 

A renewed Fenerbahçe, the Istanbul side which failed to impress fans in both the league opening and an UEFA Europa League playoff game, will take on an assertive Trabzonspor on Aug. 20 in the highlight game of the second league week. 

Istanbul's Fenerbahçe, the only side to consign league champion Beşiktaş to defeat in 27 official games at its new home, will visit the Vodafone Arena by the Bosphorus on May 7 in a game that could help determine the Super League season. 

The co-partner of Turkey's global Nusr-et chain of grill houses, Nusret Gökçe, who recently became a social media phenomenon for his meat-cutting and salt-drizzling skills, recently served Fenerbahçe football star Robin van Persie in Istanbul.

Turkish Super League leader Beşiktaş will try to redirect its focus to the league following a traumatic loss against archrival Fenerbahçe last week, when it visits a tough Kardemir Karabük on Feb. 10.

Fenerbahçe coach Dick Advocaat will take his time to consider whether to sign a contract to stay at the club for another year, Fenerbahçe Deputy Chairman Şekip Mosturoğlu has announced. 

Beşiktaş chairman Firket Orman has "apologized for any wrongdoings" committed by his club during the Feb. 5 Ziraat Turkey Cup game against Fenerbahçe, which was marked by brawls and on-pitch violence. 

"I apologize to everyone for our wrongdoings in the derby," Orman said on Feb. 7 at a ceremony marking a new jersey deal with Vodafone. 

Fenerbahçe eliminated Beşiktaş in the Ziraat Turkish Cup last 16 late on Feb. 5 1-0 in a tense game marked by brawls.

A rising Fenerbahçe, which has won its last eight games, will host historic rival Beşiktaş on Dec. 3 looking to maintain an 11-year undefeated record in derby games.

Beşiktaş, meanwhile, is out to extend its unbeaten run in three competitions - the Spor Toto Super League, Champions League and the Ziraat Turkey Cup.
