Boyko Borisov: Government Must Resign Immediately
Bulgaria's Government must resign immediately, said the leader of the opposition party GERB Boyko Borisov at an extraordinary press conference on Thursday.
It was called in after earlier on Thursday the leader of the government coalition partner Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS), Lyutvi Mestan, said the government should resign and early elections be held by the end of 2014.

Parliament Committee Starts Probe into President Plevneliev
Bulgarian Parliament Committee investigating into President Rosen Plevneliev's contacts with representatives of EDCs is to meet for the first time Thursday.
The temporary inquiry committee was established on May 8 upon a motion by the far-right Ataka and drew support from the ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP).

President Appoints New Head of National Security Service
Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev appointed Lt Gen Angel Antonov head of the National Security Service (NSO) on Monday.
By a decree Plevneliev dismissed Todor Kodzheykov and his deputy Kalin Ivanov from office, the president's press service has reported.
The head of state also appointed Col Yulian Haralampiev and Col Krasimir Stanchev to be Antonov's deputies.

Bulgarians reaffirmed their pro-EU orientation President in an unambiguous manner at the European Parliament elections, according to President Rosen Plevneliev.

Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev congratulated in a phone conversation the newly-elected Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, said the President's press office.
According to 99.03% of the processed ballots, Poroshenko wins the May 25 presidential elections with 54.7% of the votes.

Nikolay Barekov, leader of the Bulgaria without Censorship party, has said that the formation supports a no-confidence motion against the socialist-led government.
According to preliminary results of the European Parliament elections, the Bulgaria without Censorship party of the former TV host will send two MEPs to the European Parliament.
6.88% Voter Turnout in Bulgaria As Of 10 AM
The voter turnout in the European elections in Bulgaria, as of 10 AM, is 6.88%, said the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).
“The election process across the country is going smoothly and all polling stations are open,” said the CEC chairperson Alexander Andreev.
The number of reported violations, according to Andreev, is insignificant.

President Plevneliev Urges Bulgarians to Show Trust in Europe
Europe needs its citizens' trust in the fight against populism and nationalism, Bulgaria's President Rosen Plevneliev warned on Friday.
On the last day of the run-up to the European elections, Plevneliev reminded of the important role that May 25's vote will play for Bulgaria's direction "not only over the next five years, but for a longer period".
