Severe weather ‘Atena’: Storms, floods & winds up to 9 Beaufort – Which areas will be affected in the next hours

Dangerous weather is expected in many areas of the country from tonight and for the next few days, with the possible occurrence of local flooding phenomena having put the Civil Protection mechanism on heightened alert.

The new bad weather called “Atena” will have a longer duration and its main feature will be severe storms.

 The Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) updated its emergency weather bulletin on Sunday afternoon, noting that a low-pressure system forming in the Western Mediterranean is causing storm “Atena” in the Central Mediterranean and is moving eastward.

With lasting warmth and high temperatures, the weather will roll through the week ofFebruary.

Today is forecast to be sunny and only in the afternoon in the mountains will it be cloudy locally and occasionally. Winds will blow in the west W-NW 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the east NE to NW 5 to 6 Beaufort. The temperature will rise by 1 to 2 degrees.
