Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on Friday received Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic.
According to a government statement, the two said that "respect for citizens' rights and regularity and legality in the work of government bodies need to be improved."

Prime minister addresses treatment of ombudsman
BELGRADE -- "There is no pressure on Ombudsman Sasa Jankovic," Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic told a news conference in Belgrade late on Wednesday.
According to Vucic, Ombudsman is with his own behavior "saying a lot more about himself than about those whom he criticizes on a daily basis."

Serbian Ombudsman Pressed on Friend's Suicide
Serbian police on Wednesday published documents about the suicide of a friend of Sasa Jankovic, Serbian ombudsman, which occurred in Jankovic's own apartment and with Jankovic's gun in 1993.
The documents show traces of gunpowder were found on Jankovic hands.
The ballistics expert's report noted that there is no way to determine how the gunpowder ended up on Jankovic's hands.

BELGRADE -- The head of Serbia's team for EU membership negotiations has said she had no information that the EC "had sent an act" in connection to the Serbian ombudsman.
Tanja Miscevic added on Wednesday that independent institutions will be discussed during the EU-Serbia talks.
