Baykar’s Selçuk Bayraktar Türkiye’s highest taxpayer
Selçuk Bayraktar, chairman and chief technology officer (CTO) of Türkiye's leading drone maker Baykar, topped the list of highest-income taxpayers in 2023, the country's Revenue Administration said on Aug. 28.
Last year, 1.95 billion Turkish Liras ($52.4 million) of income tax accrued to Selçuk Bayraktar.
Turkish defense firm refers to ‘Blue Homeland’ in connection with drone missile test
Baykar, the Turkish defense contractor run by the son-in-law of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Selcuk Bayraktar, has referred to Ankara's controversial expansionist doctrine in a press release hailing a firing test at sea with its newly developed "Bayraktar Akinci" unarmed combat aerial vehicle, saying it "showcased its impact in the Blue Homeland."
Some 27 Turkish billionaires enter Forbes’ list
Some 27 billionaires made it to Forbes' Richest People in the World List this year with a combined net worth of $57.7 billion.
There were 26 people from Türkiye on the list last year with a total net worth of $52.5 billion.

Baykar’s UAV integrated with domestic missile
Akıncı, the armed unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Turkish defense company Baykar, has achieved a precise hit on a target at sea from a distance of 100 kilometers in a test launch using the domestically developed Çakır cruise missile.

Teknofest welcomes 2.5 million visitors this year
Teknofest, Türkiye's largest technology and space festival, has broken a record as it welcomed more than 2.5 million visitors this year.
Organized by the Industry and Technology Ministry and the T3 Foundation, Teknofest was held at Istanbul Atatürk Airport from April 27 to May 1.

Baykar’s drone completes fifth flight test
