22 on trial for ‘violence in care center’ in Eskişehir

The family of a mentally disabled man, who allegedly had bruises on his body and a broken hip while he was staying in a special disability care center in Eskişehir in 2018, has filed a lawsuit against 22 employees at the center, including the caregiver, health personnel and the director of the institution.

Court ruling in high-profile femicide case faces backlash

The murderer of university student Pınar Gültekin, Cemal Metin Avcı has been served with a reduced prison sentence of 23 years on the grounds of "unjust provocation" on June 20.

The 13th hearing of the case was held at the Muğla 3rd High Criminal Court.

Avcı stated that he was remorseful and said that he committed the murder alone.

Rare portraits of Ottoman sultans to be sold at London auction

British auction house Christie's will offer collectors a chance to purchase the rare portraits of six Ottoman sultans - Orhan Gazi, Bayezid I, Isa Chelebi, Mehmed I, Selim I and Selim II - when they go under the hammer on Oct. 28.

The portraits are expected to fetch a total of 800,000 to 1.2 million pounds ($1.1 million - $1.64 million).
