Syrian regime forces will take over Manbij, which has been under the control of Syrian Kurdish forces since its liberation from Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) jihadists, Russia stated on March 3, amid repeated calls from Turkey for Kurdish forces to leave the town. 

Ankara will initiate proposals for humanitarian aid to Aleppo at a key international meeting that is expected to be held in Lausanne on Oct. 15, as world powers prepare for new truce talks, according to Turkish presidential spokesperson İbrahim Kalın.

Speaking at a press briefing in Ankara on Oct. 13, Kalın said Turkey had three topics on its agenda regarding the Syrian crisis.

There are no plans to storm the Syrian city of Aleppo despite thousands of Al-Nusra militants massing around the city, the Russian military general staff, which is providing air support to the Syrian army, said on April 11. 

Russia is ready to share information with the US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State group on the location of militants in Syria and expects the same in return, a senior Russian military official has said.
