ELAS: How the action of 14 criminal organisations was dismantled – 20,000-page file, 132 people involved

Greek police (EL.AS) have dismantled 14 criminal organizations operating in various areas of the country. Specifically, as part of the investigations, twelve criminal organizations involved in burglary and robbery were dismantled, one organization engaged in usury and extortion, and one organization involved in the production and distribution of forged documents.

14-year-old arrested for school arson in northern Greece

A 14-year-old is accused of starting a fire on Sunday night at a primary school in Neo Souli, Serres, northern Greece.

The fire cause extensive damage to the roof of the building.

Charges were filed against the minor for the crime of arson, while his parents were also arrested for neglecting the supervision of a minor.

Terna Energy: Public–private partnership for Integrated Waste Management in the Peloponnese Region

Arcadia Waste Treatment Plant is part of the PPP project of Integrated Waste Management of the Peloponnese Region, which was visited today by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

This is the largest Waste Management PPP constructed in Greece (contract enters into force -29 January 2021). It has been preceded by the PPPs of Western Macedonia, Epirus, Serres, and Ilia.

Citizens, businesses largely abiding by anti-smoking law

It was long in coming but widespread enforcement of the anti-smoking law now appears to be a reality in Greece.

The data collected jointly by the National Transparency Authority and Greek Police from inspections indicates that the overwhelming majority of citizens and businesses are complying with the law.
