Jokic claims third career NBA MVP title
DENVER - Serbian basketball player Nikola Jokic has claimed a third career NBA MVP title in four years, the NBA announced on Wednesday evening.
The Denver Nuggets centre fended off competition from the Dallas Mavericks' Luka Doncic and the Oklahoma City Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
Jokic has become only the ninth NBA player in history with three or more MVP titles.

Serbia beat Canada to advance to basketball world cup final
MANILA - The Serbia men's national basketball team is through to the final of the FIBA World Cup after a 95-86 (23-15, 29-24, 23-24, 20-23) semi-final win over Canada in Manila on Friday.
In Sunday's gold medal game, Serbia will play the winner of the other semi-final between the US and Germany.

The Oklahoma City Thunder also won in overtime on Oct. 29, edging the Mavericks in Dallas 117-111.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 38 points, six rebounds and nine assists.
