99.81 pct of voters in favour of keeping January 9 as RS Day
BANJALUKA - According to unofficial final results, 99.81 pct of voters in the Republika Srpska (RS) referendum voted in favour of keeping January 9 as the Republika Srpska Day, the commission in charge of conducting the referendum announced Monday.
It said 1,291 citizens had voted against.
"Summon everyone in RS for questioning, not just Dodik"
From the formal and legal point of view, "it is completely pointless for the Prosecution of Bosnia to summon only RS President Milorad Dodik for questioning."
This is according to Sinisa Karan, president of a commission the Serb entity, RS, set up to organize the RS Day referendum.
Bosnian Serb Referendum Results Questioned
Sinisa Karan, president of the referendum commission in Republika Srpska, told a press conference on Monday that, after all votes have been counted, 99.81 per cent of voters had said "yes" to maintaining January 9 as the mainly Serbian entity's national day.
Karan said that of the 1,219,399 people eligible to vote, 680,116 did so, giving a turnout of 55.67 per cent.
