Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi is expected to pay his first visit to Ankara on Sept. 4 for a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, according to sources cited by multiple news outlets.
Türkiye's top diplomat holds talks with Egypt's president
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi in El-Alamein, northern Egypt.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed the meeting on social media platform X, but neither side disclosed any details about the discussions.
The meeting came as both countries sought to improve ties.
Turkish FM visits Egypt amid thaw in relations
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan arrived in Egypt on Aug. 4 for a two-day visit aimed at improving relations between Ankara and Cairo.
The visit made at the invitation of Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty will include discussions on bilateral relations as well as regional and international developments, according to a statement from Türkiye's Foreign Ministry.

Aid enters Gaza under new deal as Israel continue strikes
Aid trucks entered Gaza from southern Israel yesterday through a new agreement to bypass the Rafah crossing with Egypt after Israeli forces seized the Palestinian side of it earlier this month amid heavy shelling in the southern region.
