In the span of five weeks, 602 foreign companies sent letters about intended investments in Bulgaria, caretaker Economy Minister Kiril Petkov told a briefing on Tuesday during which he reported on the results of a competition to this end among the economic advisors of Bulgarian services for trade and economic issues abroad.

Caretaker Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov removed from office members of the current Supervisory Board of the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB), Dimitar Simeonov and Velina Burska. The proposed replacements are Vasil Shtonov and Valentin Mihov.

The most interesting projects developed at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, ready to give a start to a successful business were presented at the Science for Business forum.

For the first time, the Bulgarian vaccine against COVID-19, PCR test kits, a device for dry-mist air disinfection, bioceramics based on a space technology and many others were introduced.

Bulgaria and China will cooperate to create production facilities for electric buses and a research and development centre in Bulgaria, BNR reported.

Eight projects worth a total of EUR 156M have been certified since the beginning of the year, with the potential of creating 3,800 new jobs nationally.
