According to the lawyer of the two Turkish officers that surrended to the Greek authorities, Stavroula Tomara, there were three more officers with them that left first from Orestiada to Thessaloniki by bus.
Greece rejects extradition of three coup plotter soldiers to Turkey
A Greek court on Dec. 5 ruled against the extradition of three Turkish soldiers out of eight who fled to the country one day after the failed July 15 coup attempt, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
The three soldiers will not be extradited on the grounds that their lives are under jeopardy, according to the court ruling.
Greece rejects asylum requests from more Turkish soldiers
Greece has rejected asylum requests from seven of eight Turkish soldiers who fled there after an abortive coup attempt against President Tayyip Erdogan in July, their lawyer said on Tuesday.
The eight Turkish soldiers flew a military helicopter into northern Greece on July 16, hours after a coup attempt by elements of the military in Turkey started unraveling.
