Volkswagen Plant Will be in Plovdiv, not in Turkey, the City's Deputy Mayor Believes

There is no final decision of the Volkswagen Group where it will make its new plant, but we see that the construction in Turkey has not started yet, Deputy Mayor Stefan Stoyanov told his colleagues in Plovdiv in response to a question whether Bulgaria and in particular Plovdiv lost the battle for Volkswagen.

Informal meeting of the Working Party on General Affairs of the Council of the EU

An informal meeting of the Working Party on General Affairs of the Council of the EU was held on 10 and 11 May in Sofia and Plovdiv. The event was part of the calendar of the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU. Representatives of EU Member States, the European Commission, the General Secretariat of the Council and the European External Action Service participated  in the meeting.

Bulgaria's Plovdiv to Be Officially Declared European Capital of Culture 2019

Plovdiv will be officially declared European Capital of Culture for 2019 at a Tuesday meeting of the Council of the European Union.

The issue has been included in the provisional agenda of the meeting on May 19, according to Darik radio.

Plovdiv Mayor Ivan Totev and his deputy Stefan Stoyanov left for Brussels on Monday.
