Jews among Berbers: a Moroccan Exhibition

A photo exhibition titled Jews among Berbers was officially opened at the Bulgarian Academy of Science in Sofia on Thursday.

Dozens of images, short of making up an entire picture of everyday life of Moroccan Jews, show little known scenes dated back to the 1940s and 1950, when Jewish populations larger than now coexisted peacefully with Arab and Berber Muslims.

Bulgarian Academy of Sciences to Receive EUR 237 M for Research for 5 Years

Stefan Vodenicharov, President of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), has said that the institution expects to receive EUR 237 M for research over the next 5 years.

Vodenicharov, as cited by the Bulgarian National Radio, noted Tuesday that the money was expected to be granted under the EU operational program Science and Education for Smart Growth 2014-2020.

Bulgaria, Macedonia with Joint Slavic Script Celebrations

 

Bulgaria and Macedonia will hold for the first time a joint event to mark the annual celebrations of the Slavic Script and Culture.

On May 11, Archbishop Stefan, head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, and the chair of Macedonia's Academy of Science Vlado Kambovski are due to arrive in Sofia, CROSS agency has reported.
