Adam Sandler placed his hand on the bronze bust of Mark Twain and speculated that it "one day might be the weapon used to bludgeon me in my sleep."

A host of comedic and entertainment royalty gathered at Washington's Kennedy Center as Sandler was presented with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

The festival announced its lineup on Thursday, with a slate that includes four female directors in competition for the Palme d'Or prize.

The Dead Do not Die zombie movie will open the racing program. It is the work of American independent director Jim Jarmusch, who in 1984 received the Golden Palm Prize.

The 23rd edition of the annual Sarajevo Film Festival opens on Friday, August 11, with a screening of Aki Kaurismaki's latest film The Other Side of Hope at the National Theatre and the Raiffeisen Open Air Cinema in the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo.

Puerto Rican singer-songwriter and guitar virtuoso José Feliciano will take the stage at Zorlu PSM Center on Nov. 29.

Feliciano gained worldwide success in the 1960s when he covered the famous The Doors hit, "Light My Fire" in 1968, the same year in which he won two Grammy Awards.

Feliciano later combined flamenco, soft rock, pop and Latin to create a unique blend of sound.

The 21st Sarajevo Film Festival closed on Saturday night with a ceremony at which the Heart of Sarajevo award for the best film was given to the Turkish director Deniz Gamze Erguven.  

The actor Benicio del Toro became the main star of this year's Sarajevo Film Festival, SFF, after he presented his latest movie and thrilled some 3,000 film-lovers as he walked festival's red carpet to receive the honorary Heart of Sarajevo award.

The red carpet is laid down, the film stages set and the audio equipment has been checked and re-checked for the grand opening of the 21st Sarajevo Film Festival, SFF, which opens on Friday night.   

Construction of the main stage has started in front of Sarajevo's National Theatre, which will be the main venue for the red-carpet introductions and presentations at the 21st Sarajevo Film Festival which starts in less than three weeks in the Bosnian capital.
