Greece National Football Team: Remains Undefeated in the Nations League – Emotional Moments for Baldock and the Connection to the World Cup

The Greek national football team continued its impressive streak in the Nations League on Sunday evening, defeating Ireland 2-0 and maintaining its undefeated record.

Perfect Greece beats Ireland too

Two second-half goals extended Greece's perfect record after four games in the UEFA Nations League, for a 2-0 victory against Ireland on Sunday in front of a capacity and vocal crowd at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus.

The result means Greece has mathematically sealed a top-two finish in the group, and it remains at the top three points ahead of England.

Panathinaikos brings AEK down from the top

Panathinaikos came from behind to inflict AEK's first defeat in 22 league games and allow PAOK to go top of the Super League table, while Olympiakos also remains in the title race.

The Greens defeated the champion 2-1 at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium on Wednesday, in a game whose first half was among the season's most spectacular.

Prolific Greece trounces Kazakhstan, sets up final with Georgia

Greece has got one final hurdle to clear on its way to Euro 2024, after thrashing Kazakhstan on Thursday with a 5-0 score in Athens.

The Greek national team has advanced to the final of its division in the UEFA Nations League and must beat Georgia away in five days' time to qualify to this summer's finals in Germany.

PAOK leads Super League table downing the Greens

PAOK beat Panathinaikos on Sunday and is now alone on top of the Super League table, while the Greens have slumped to third after AEK's win over OFI.

The top-of-the-table clash in Thessaloniki had PAOK win 2-1 through a pair of Kiril Despodov goals. Greece captain Tasos Bakasetas had temporarily equalized for his first goal in the green jersey.

PAO signs Bakasetas

Greek soccer international Tasos Bakasetas arrived in Athens on Monday night to complete his transfer to Panathinaikos, which is coached by Turkish coach Fatih Terim. 

Bakasetas, who was signed from Turkish club Trabzonspor, told reporters that "it was hard to say goodbye to Trabzonspor."
