Kasselakis and McBeth marry in Hania under tight security

SYRIZA leader Stefanos Kasselakis and his partner, Tyler McBeth, married at the Hania Botanical Garden on Friday evening under tight security.

A police patrol blocked access to uninvited guests. Two people were detained for attempting to capture aerial footage with a drone. Authorities used a drone detection system and required guests to surrender their phones. 

Shipping minister condemns attack on Greek-flagged vessel in Red Sea

The minister of shipping and island policy has condemned the attack on a Greek-flagged vessel in the Red Sea off Yemen.

The "Sounion," a cargo ship, was attacked by two small boats and struck by three projectiles early on Wednesday, 77 nautical miles (142 km) west of Yemen's port of Hodeidah, the ministry said.

Cyprus Attorney-General George Savvides said on Thursday that a decision by the World Bank's International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes on the case Theodoros Adamakopoulos and others v. Republic of Cyprus, "vindicates" Cyprus, as regards the measures it took in 2013, with the haircut on bank deposits.

Aegean Airlines head is EY Entrepreneur of the Year

Aegean Airlines head Eftychis Vassilakis received this week the award for the Greek Entrepreneur of the Year by EY Greece.

This distinction means that Vassilakis will be Greece's representative at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year in June in Monte Carlo, along with winners from another 47 countries and territories.

Fresh donation made to bolster public health system in coronavirus fight

Theodoros and Gianna Angelopoulos became the latest Greeks to donate 1 million euros to the fight against the new coronavirus epidemic in Greece, the Health Ministry announced on Monday.

The donation was accepted by Health Minister Vassilis Kikilias and has been channeled into the Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Technology to help bolster its work.
