An inquest by Wakefield Coroner’s Court into the deaths of Bobby and Christi Sheherd, aged six and seven when they died while on a holiday to Corfu, found that tour operators Thomas Cook “breached their duty of care.” The children died from carbon monoxide poisoning due to a faulty boiler while on holiday in 2006.

Sharon Wood and Neil Shepherd sat in anguish listening to testimonies at Wakefield Coronor’s Court that began on Monday to determine how her children died during a holiday on the island of Corfu almost a decade ago.

Speaking at the ITB Berlin (Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin), Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova noted that nearly 1 million Germans had visited Bulgaria in 2014, with over 700 000 of them traveling to the country for tourism.

German tourists are apparently ignoring whatever political debate over a recent Greek deal with eurozone creditors — as well as Bild’s “yellow sheets” — and looking ahead to the summer, with Greece the fifth favorite destination if judged by pre-bookings.

The data was announced by DW in an article previewing next month’s influential ITB tourism exhibition in Berlin.
