Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will visit Tirana tomorrow, Thursday, October 10th, where he will participate in the inauguration of the new Namazgja (Namazgah in Turkish) Mosque in the Albanian capital.

At a time of strained relations between Muslims and majority communities in Europe, the Roman Pontiff has singled out Albania as a country where different faiths coexist more happily.

Pope Francis arrived Sunday in Albania on an 11-hour visit.

This is the Pope's first European trip since he took office in 2013.

A source in Albania's Ministry of Defence, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told BIRN that weapons transfer had begun following a government decision earlier this month.
