Legendary Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi was awarded the Sofia Prize at the opening of the 23rd International Sofia Film Festival in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture. His honor was handed over by Todor Chobanov, Deputy Mayor of Sofia Municipality.
 

Sofia Municipality does not intend to pay to re-light the eyes of King Samuil's monument in Sofia,  said the Deputy Mayor of Culture Todor Chobanov to journalists on Monday.

The green heart of Sofia - Vitosha mountain will appear on an art map that will change the famous Vitoshka's fountain. Author of the project, is Prof. Boyan Dobrev, who is the author of the monument of Aleko Konstantinov (Shtastlivetsa). 

 Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova and Deputy Mayor Todor Chobanov will examine work on the archaeological heritage research on Sveta Nedelya square, the press center of the municipality announced.

Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov on Tuesday moved to stop restoration works at the site of Serdica, an ancient city whose remains lie beneath Bulgaria's capital Sofia.

Rashidov took the step after being warned by citizens that the restoration process is detrimental to the archaeological complex's original appearance.
