A groundbreaking innovation has emerged from Ankara University as completely plant-based eggs and meat were successfully produced using a 3D printer.

Tuba, a caretta caretta that was found injured in the western province of Muğla and released to the sea after the treatment with a satellite tracking device, covered a distance of 19,500 kilometers in 40 months, while 8 million people have viewed the map showing its route.

A group of fishermen in the Aegean province of Manisa has reacted strongly to local authorities on being asked to pay an occupancy fee of 391,000 Turkish Liras ($28,670) for using the Marmara Lake, which dried up three years ago.

"They are asking a fee for fish that don't exist anymore," Rafet Keser, one of the fishermen in the region, told daily Milliyet on Feb. 16.
