Turk jailed pending trial in Greece over gun attack at supermarket

A 22-year old Turkish national was jailed pending trial in Greece on Tuesday after killing another Turk and seriously injuring a third in a gun attack, with police sources saying both victims were members of a criminal gang.

The gun attack took place at a supermarket in the port city of Piraeus on Friday afternoon.

Erdogan issues ‘crazy Turk’ attack threat

In the latest installment of threatening rhetoric, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened Greece with a "crazy Turk" attack if it does not wise up. 

Speaking at a rally in Istanbul on Friday, he said Turkey's Tayfun missile has scared Greece and stressed, "We are not so concerned about striking Athens as long as you [Greece] are smart." 

Inscription shows Turkish presence in Anatolia in 10th century

An inscription belonging to an unspecified period before the 1071 Battle of Manzikert, known as the victory that led the Turks to first enter Anatolia, has been found in the Central Anatolian province of Konya, with the head of the excavation informing it's the "evidence of the Turkish presence in the 10th century."

Azerbaijan to host Teknofest this May

Teknofest, one of the world's biggest aviation, space and technology festivals, will hold its first edition abroad in the Azerbaijani capital Baku in May.

The four-day event that is scheduled to take place between May 26 and May 29 will feature 10 technology competitions in fields such as rockets, agriculture, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
