Agreement for Humanitarian Corridor in Mariupol, Moscow called Dialogue with Kyiv “Circus”
Ukrainian authorities say they have agreed with Russia to create a humanitarian corridor to evacuate civilians from the besieged port city of Mariupol. This is the first such agreement since Saturday, AFP quoted Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk as saying.
Russia reports that 1,000 Ukrainian troops surrendered in Mariupol
Russia's Defense Ministry said today that more than 1,000 Ukrainian servicemen had surrendered in Mariupol, a strategic port in eastern Ukraine that has been under siege by Russian forces for a month, AFP reported.
"In Mariupol, 1,026 Ukrainian servicemen from the 36th Naval Brigade voluntarily laid down their arms and surrendered," the ministry said.
