Vasil Bozhkov

Venelin Petkov, the head of news, current affairs and sport at private channel bTV, said on Tuesday that he intends to sue United Patriots leader Valeri Simeonov for calling him and his colleague Anton Hekimyan corrupt during a broadcast on Bulgarian National Television.

"See you in court," Petkov wrote on Facebook in response to Simeonov's accusations.

The Prosecutor's Office instructed the Ministry of Culture to inspect the collection of antique objects kept and exhibited in a museum by the Thrace Foundation.

The foundation was established by gambling tycoon Vasil Bozhkov, who was recently detained in the United Arab Emirates.

The Bulgarian National Assembly adopted on a second reading the proposals of the leader of the National Front for the Salvation of Bulgaria for amendments to the Gambling Act which bans private lotteries in this country, BNR reported.

Bulgarian businessman Vasil Bozhkov, who is the subject of a European arrest warrant, was detained in the United Arab Emirates, BNR public radio in Sofia reported, quoted by Bloomberg

The president of Nove Holding Vasil Bozhkov has 7 allegations raised and Interpol has released a "Red Notice" on his arrest,  Attorney General Ivan Geshev confirmed.

Part of the charges against the businessman are for the leadership of an organized criminal group, coercion, extortion, attempted bribery of an official and incitement to commit criminal offenses.

The General Meeting of PFC Levski AD was held this morning at the National Palace of Culture. It has officially changed its ownership of the "blue" club. As previously announced by Sportal.bg, the new majority ownership of the 26-time champions is named Georgi Popov, who took the main package of shares from the former boss Spas Rusev and is close to businessman Vasil Bozhkov.

The new right-wing "Democratic Bulgaria" unification offers limited advertising on gambling and the sale of lottery tickets. The formation has sent a draft of amendments to the Gambling Act to the President of the National Assembly and all parliamentary groups.

For nearly ten years, gambling revenues in Bulgaria have doubled, and in just 2017 they have reached over BGN 3 billion. As the tax cuts are huge, the taxes paid in 2016 are only 177 million leva. Biggest profit is recorded by the game of scratching tickets.

The monument of John Atanassov, currently in front of the Sofia Chamber of Commerce, can be moved. The proposal comes from the company, owner of the property "Ng Property", which is managed by the businessman Vasil Bozhkov.
