Derby stalemate on a weekend of fan clashes
PAOK has the chance to reclaim the top spot of the Super League on Monday if it beats Volos at home, after leader Olympiakos shared a goalless draw with AEK at the Olympic Stadium of Athens on Sunday. However the weekend was marred by serious clashes between fans and police on a number of occasions around Athens.

Keeper Tsintotas gives AEK fans the season's best save
AEK's reserve keeper Panagiotis Tsintotas produced arguably the save of the season on Wednesday to safeguard all three points for his team in the game with Asteras Tripolis, just five minutes after coming on as a substitute. AEK remains 10 points behind Super League leaders Olympiakos and PAOK which scored easy wins.
AEK concedes late goal to lose at Benfica too
AEK completed the group stage of the Champions League without a single point after it went down to a late Benfica goal in Lisbon on Wednesday.
Benfica won 1-0, taking advantage of a needless freekick that cost AEK dearly two minutes from time. Costas Galanopoulos, who lost the ball and then conceded that freekick, also received his second yellow card to leave AEK with 10 men.

AEK loses at Bayern but saves face
Two Robert Lewandowski goals sank AEK in Munich for the Champions League group stage on Wednesday, but the 2-0 loss and the fairly solid performance by the Athens team for most of the game will work wonders for the Greeks' spirit.

AEK suffers in the hands of Benfica
AEK succumbed to 10-man Benfica in Athens, going down 3-2 at the Olympic Stadium on Tuesday, to see any chances it had to advance to the next round of the Champions League slip away after its second defeat in as many group games.

PAO, AEK do not capitalize on Olympiakos's draw
Olympiakos dropped two points at Platanias Hanion on Saturday, but Panathinaikos and AEK drew their derby a day later failing to capitalize on that rare snag Olympiakos hit. Panionios and Xanthi did cut the distance from the top of the Super League as the two joint-second teams are now 10 points behind the leader. Two games were postponed because of frozen pitches.
