Negotiations underway: "Feel safe" VIDEO / PHOTO
Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine started today in the Gomel region, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed.
The delegations were welcomed by Vladimir Makei, head of the administration of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
"You can feel completely safe. It is our sacred duty!" Makei said, Ukrainian paper Justice reports.

France's ambassador to Belarus has left the country after the authorities in Minsk demanded he leave by Oct. 18, the embassy said.
The spokeswoman who made the announcement did not say why the Belarusian authorities told him to leave.

Syria rejects foreign ground troops to fight ISIL
Syria will not allow foreign ground troops on its territory to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem said on Feb. 9.
Speaking at a news conference in Damascus, Muallem also said Jordan had not responded to a Syrian request to coordinate efforts against ISIL after the group killed a captured Jordanian pilot.
