Center for preservation of Serbian language, culture opens
According to the Serbian government, Brnabic said that her cabinet will support the center, which will be "equally important for humanistic social sciences as the science-research station Petnica is for natural sciences."
"We'll protect Serbian language from bad influences"
Education Minister Mladen Sarcevic has said that his ministry "will do everything to protect the Serbian language from bad influences."
He spoke during the final ceremony of the 83rd Vuk's Assembly - an annual gathering held in the village of Trsic, western Serbia, the birthplace of Vuk Karadzic, Serbia's 19th century language reformer.
51st International Convention of Writers opens
BELGRADE - The 51st International Convention of Writers, to be held until September 22, was ceremonially opened at the National Library of Serbia on Wednesday.
Association of Serbian Writers (UKS) President Radomir Andric - Roko opened the event, welcoming the international participants, as well as those from Serbia, Kosovo-Metohija and Republika Srpska.
