China holds war games around Taiwan, vows flowing blood

China on Thursday encircled Taiwan with naval vessels and military aircraft in war games, as it vowed the blood of "independence forces" on the self-ruled island would flow.
Putin to visit Beijing, meet Xi this week
Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China this week and meet with leader Xi Jinping, the two countries announced Tuesday.
Putin will be in Beijing from Thursday to Friday, foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said in a statement, the Russian leader's first trip abroad since his March re-election and his second in just over six months to China.

China slams US claims it is fuelling Ukraine war
China condemned on Tuesday as "groundless accusations" U.S. claims that Beijing was fuelling the Ukraine war by supplying components to Russia which it uses for its military expansion.
China and Russia have ramped up economic cooperation and diplomatic contacts in recent years and their strategic partnership has only grown closer since the invasion of Ukraine.

Chinese-Australian dissident writer Yang Jun has been handed a suspended death sentence for espionage in China, Beijing and Canberra said Monday, five years after he was arrested on a rare visit to his homeland.
The Chinese-born Australian citizen has been in jail in China since 2019 on spying allegations and is said to be in ill health.
China, US hold rival drills in disputed South China Sea
China showcased on Thursday fighter jets firing missiles in the South China Sea, as it held rival military exercises with the United States in the hotly contested waters.
The drills follow tense standoffs between Beijing and Manila in disputed reefs that saw vessels from the two countries collide and Chinese ships blast water cannon at Philippine boats.

Mitsotakis to visit China Nov 2-3, Chinese media say
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will visit China on November 2-3, Chinese state news agency Xinhua reported on Wednesday.
The visit follows an invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said.
