Panathinaikos clinched a crucial 2-1 victory over Panetolikos in Agrinio during the 12th round of the Super League. The winning goal came in injury time, scored by Willian Arao, ensuring Panathinaikos moved to the top of the table. Filip Đuričić opened the scoring for the visitors in the 10th minute, while Giannis Bouzoukis equalized for Panetolikos in the 52nd minute.

Despite showing some effort, Panathinaikos ended their second friendly match on Austrian soil with a 0-0 draw against Cyprus Cup winner, Paphos. The team faced many absences, affecting their overall performance.

AEK and PAOK continued with victories at the top two spots of the Super League table over the weekend, but Panathinaikos dropped two points against bottom team Kifissia at home.

AEK faced sixth-placed Lamia away and won 3-1 on Saturday, courtesy of goals by Domagoj Vida, Niclas Eliasson and Steven Zuber. Sidcley Ferreira scored Lamia's consolation.

PAOK and Panathinaikos produced impressive displays on the road in the midweek Super League fixtures, while AEK and Olympiakos drooped two points each and lost ground to their rivals.

Just before the end of the second stage of the preseason training of Olympiakos in the Netherlands, the Piraeus club is preparing to add two more players to its roster. They are Flamengo's Brazilian defensive midfielder Willian Arao and Sfaxien's Tunisian international defender Yassine Meriah, who are about to don the red and white stripes.
